Srimad Bhagavadgeeta:

Chapter-7. ( Jnana vijnana yogam )

Slokam -16. [Who, which type, nature of persons ( devotees ) pray you (The Supreme) ].

Catur vidha bhajanthe mam janah sukrutino arjuna
Aarttho gijnasu artthartthee jnani ca bharatarshaba.

Bharatarshaba! Arjuna! = The best of Bharatheeya Arjuna!

Aarthah = The first type called Aarthan

Gijnasu = The second type called Gijnasu

Artthartthee = The third type called Artthartthi

Jnani ca = The fourth type called Jnani, this way

Catur vidha sukrutinah janah = Four types of holy atmas ( persons)

Mam bhajanthe = Do prayer to me.

For everything stimulation and strength is given by Atma. All matters function with life due to dependency to Atma chaithanyam. A train engine is made of steel/iron, it pulls bogies carrying persons and goods and moves forward, this pull and movement is made possible not by steal/iron but by some other thing (power )in the engine ( steam). The foolish human beings live in the misunderstanding that they are the bodies or the minds or the intelligence, and exhibit the chaithanyam through their dead matters. Those people who are far away from Paramatma, collect the strength and stamina to do the necessary hard work needed to fulfil their desires, to gain happiness and satisfaction, from the Supreme power, the Paramatma only.

These (suffering in darkness of ignorance) people could not sustain without depending the Lord. They when to get relief from their suffering or to gain objects which provide comforts to their sense organs, their minds, their intelligence, whatever may be, they also depend upon the Supreme Lord ( Atma chaithanyam). The body is formed from panch budha, unless there is chaithnyam in it it is only a dead matter. Fan, Heater, Fridge, these are all dead products, and have no self capacity to --rotation, heating, cooling, until connected with electricity, function when current is passed into. All electrical appliances when in bhajanam (connected with) electrical supply points, electricity flows in them.

If the suitable appliance is connected with, then only it provides us the required service. Otherwise opposite result occurs. You cannot blame electricity for the fault or unsuitability of the appliance. Likewise if you use the chaithanyam ( the strength within ) ignorantly this will end in catastrophe to the individual as well as to the society.

Lord Sri Krishnan in this slokam declares the scientific truth that the source of life and power is Atma, whether good or bad, literate or
Illiterate, brave or cowered, let it anybody all need to be connected with Paramatma, there is no other way! The strength of Paramatma is exhibited in every person according to the nature (Guna) of the individual and his mind's quality, this is the reason that knowingly or unknowingly each person tries to connect with the Lord. All transactions/ businesses/dealings done bodily or mentally or intelligently are because of that ( Paramatma) only. If you look in this way you may arrive at that all are devotees of the Lord. But all are not same; they have to be classified into four types: Lord Krishna clarifies!!

1. Aarthan :- These people are well placed, with all sorts of comforts, enjoy best experiences in the world, but still they do not have satisfaction, peace of mind, and suffer in their entire life, these to get relief turn towards the Lord, become his devotees.........

2. Gijnasu :- Those who search the Supreme Tatvam ( essence/principle/ truth) of Paramatma, and willing to know this Tatvam, become devotees.........

3. Artthartthi :- All most all people have some desire or the other, to fulfil them human are active in different types of activities. To engage in such, they get sufficient strength from Paramatma, not any other place, so the devotion, to gain them!

4. Jnani :- We do not find these people in the society, few only, almost negligible. They connect with the Lord not for any material gains, never ask any thing, never expect anything, never look for fruits/results of their karma (actions), energised with full love and devotion, surrender themselves to the Paramatma. Their request is to keep them aware that Paramatma and their Jeevatma are not different, but one only. Allow us to unite with you, this ONENESS is Jnani

Next Slokam-17. Out of these four who is the best?
